An insider close to the film claims that 007 will be getting behind the wheel of a battery-powered Aston Martin for the soon-to-be-shot blockbuster’s signature action sequence.

The car is a limited edition Rapide E sedan, which goes on sale next year, according to The Sun.

The Rapide E will be limited to just 155 cars.

Based on an existing gasoline-powered model, it replaces the engine and gas tank with its zero-emissions drivetrain components and sends 600 hp to the rear wheels through twin electric motors.

Only 155 will be offered at $300,000 each, but Bond’s will be unique, equipped with all of the sorts of gadgets you’d expect Q Branch to add.

The source told the newspaper that director Cary Joji Fukunaga is a “total tree hugger” and pushed to use the car with the support of star Daniel Craig.

“Everybody is afraid of Bond getting labeled ‘too PC’ but they all felt the time was right to put him in a zero-emission vehicle.”

The 007 franchise has a history with Aston Martin dating back to 1964’s “Goldfinger” starring Sean Connery, which featured a DB5 that was auctioned in 2016 for $4 million.

The 25th Bond film is scheduled to be released on April 8, 2020.
